The ISCSW has consistently presented high quality conferences and workshops specifically geared to the learning needs and clinical interests of our members. Over the years the ISCSW has presented conferences featuring nationally and internationally renowned clinicians on a wide range of cutting edge clinical topics. These speakers have included: Neuropsychoanalyst, Allan Schore, Feminist Therapist, Laura Brown, Traumatologist, Jon Allen, and most recently Psychologist, Louis Cozolino. Topics presented have included the integration of brain research and attachment theory in clinical practice, cultural competence in trauma therapy, the use of mentalization in the treatment of trauma, and how psychotherapy changes the brain. We have received consistent feedback from attendees that our conferences and workshops provide thought provoking and clinically relevant material that enhances their clinical practice.
In addition to our yearly conferences, for the last 8 years, the ISCSW has organized and presented bi-annual ethics workshops that enabled our members and the larger social work community to obtain their ethics CEUs, in order to renew their LCSW licenses. Speakers for these workshops have included Social Work Professors Carlton Munson, Henry Kronner and Eric Ornstein as well as lawyers Jonathan Nye and Joseph Monahan.
Our goal is to continue to provide outstanding clinical educational conferences and workshops for our members and for the larger clinical social work community. If you have an idea or suggestion for a topic, we are always interested in hearing from our members about what would be useful for enhancing your practice! Contact Us
